What is a project?

Home / Knowledge Base / General / What is a project?

In WEMASY, a project represents a website. Each project is a self-contained environment where you build, manage, and publish a single website.

One project, one website

Every project has its own set of pages, settings, domain, and tools. Nothing is shared between projects unless you choose to collaborate with others.

This means you can manage multiple websites from a single WEMASY account. Each website lives inside its own project.

What a project includes

Each project comes with:

  • Pages — the individual pages that make up your website.
  • Settings — project-level configuration such as title, language, time zone, and domain.
  • Domain — either a free WEMASY subdomain or your own custom domain.
  • Site identity — your logo, favicon, and cookie consent preferences.
  • Tools — form submissions, tracking code, collaborator management, and more.

Multiple projects

Each project has its own subscription. You can create as many free projects as you want, as long as your account is verified. Each project is independent. You switch between them using the project switcher in the top navigation bar, next to the WEMASY logo.

This is useful if you manage more than one website. For example, you might have one project for a business website and another for a personal blog.

Your first project

When you sign up for WEMASY, a default project is created automatically. You can start building right away or create a new project from scratch.

Tip: You can rename your default project at any time in the project settings.
