Deleting a project

Home / Knowledge Base / General / Deleting a project

If you no longer need a project, you can delete it from WEMASY. Deleting a project is permanent and cannot be undone.

Before you delete

Take a moment to review the following before deleting a project:

  • All content will be lost. Every page, setting, and file associated with the project will be permanently removed.
  • Your domain will be disconnected. If you connected a custom domain or WEMASY subdomain, it will no longer point to your website.
  • Collaborators will lose access. Anyone you invited to the project will no longer be able to access it.

Note: There is no way to recover a deleted project. Make sure you have saved or backed up any content you want to keep before proceeding.

How to delete a project

  1. Click the configuration icon next to the project switcher in the top navigation bar.
  2. Make sure you are on the General tab.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the settings page to find the delete option.
  4. Click the delete option.
  5. Confirm that you want to permanently delete the project.

After confirmation, the project and all its content will be permanently removed.

What happens after deletion

Once deleted, you will be redirected to another project or to the project selection screen. The deleted project will no longer appear in your project switcher.

If you had a domain connected to the project, you may want to update your DNS settings with your domain registrar to avoid pointing to a non-existent site.

Tip: If you are unsure about deleting, consider removing sensitive content first and keeping the project inactive until you are certain.
