Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your WEMASY account. With 2FA enabled, signing in requires both your password and a verification code from an authenticator app.

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication is a security method that requires two separate forms of verification. The first factor is your password. The second factor is a temporary code generated by an authenticator app on your phone or device.

Even if someone learns your password, they cannot access your account without the second factor. This significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access.

Before you begin

To set up 2FA, you need an authenticator app installed on your phone or device. Common authenticator apps include:

• Google Authenticator
• Microsoft Authenticator
• Authy

If you do not have one yet, download an authenticator app from your device's app store before starting the setup.

How to enable two-factor authentication

1. Click your avatar or initials in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Select My account from the menu.
3. Navigate to the Security section.
4. Find the Two-factor authentication option and click the button to enable it.
5. A QR code will appear on screen.
6. Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code.
7. The app will generate a six-digit verification code.
8. Enter the verification code in WEMASY to confirm the setup.

Once confirmed, 2FA is active on your account. From now on, you will need to enter a code from your authenticator app each time you sign in.

Note: If your authenticator app offers a backup or export option, use it. This helps you recover your codes if you lose access to your device.

Signing in with two-factor authentication

After enabling 2FA, your sign-in process changes slightly:

1. Enter your email address and password as usual.
2. WEMASY will ask for a verification code.
3. Open your authenticator app and find the code for WEMASY.
4. Enter the six-digit code.
5. You will be signed in.

The code changes every 30 seconds. Always use the most recent code shown in your authenticator app.

How to disable two-factor authentication

If you need to turn off 2FA, you can do so from the same settings page.

1. Click your avatar or initials in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Select My account from the menu.
3. Navigate to the Security section.
4. Find the Two-factor authentication option and click the button to disable it.
5. Confirm your choice when prompted.

After disabling 2FA, you will only need your password to sign in.

Tip: Keep two-factor authentication enabled whenever possible. It is one of the most effective ways to protect your account.
