What is Click Depth?

Click depth refers to the number of clicks it takes a user to reach a specific page when they start from the website's homepage. For example, if a user needs to click through the homepage, a category page, and then a subcategory page to reach the target page, the click depth is three.

From an SEO perspective, lower click depth is generally better because search engines tend to prioritize content that is easier to reach. Pages with fewer clicks from the homepage are often crawled more frequently. The search engines see them as more important. For this reason, optimizing site structure to reduce click depth is important for SEO.
