How to change website timezone

Home / Knowledge Base / General / How to change website timezone

Adjusting your website’s time zone in WEMASY ensures that your content scheduling, analytics, and time-based settings (like blog post scheduling or order timestamps) are displayed accurately according to your local time.

Step 1 - access the correct project and settings

  • log in to your WEMASY account using the credentials that have permission to edit the site.

  • on the dashboard, identify and click the website project you want to update (important if you manage multiple sites).

  • in the left sidebar of the project, click your profile icon or the settings link to open site settings.

  • select the “general settings” tab — this is where the timezone field lives alongside site title, language, and favicon.

  • Expected result: you should see a page with fields for site title, language, favicon and a timezone dropdown or selector.

Step 2 - choose and set the timezone

  • scroll down to the timezone option. the control is usually a dropdown that displays region names and UTC offsets.

  • click the dropdown to open the list and either type to search (if available) or scroll to find your preferred timezone.

  • select the timezone that matches your business hours or primary audience location. if your operations are global, consider selecting UTC to avoid daylight saving confusion.

  • double-check the chosen entry — confirm both the region and UTC offset shown.

  • Expected result: the chosen timezone name and UTC offset appear in the timezone field.

Step 3 - save, verify, and confirm everything updated correctly

  • click save or apply changes at the bottom of the general settings page. wait for a confirmation message or indicator that changes were applied.

  • verify the change by scheduling a short test: create a draft post or event and schedule it to publish a few minutes in the future using the time you expect. watch that it publishes at the correct local time.

  • check timestamps in recent orders, analytics reports, or activity logs — these should now reflect the new timezone. refresh the page, clear your browser cache if timestamps don’t update immediately, or log out and back in.

  • if scheduled items still run at the wrong time, confirm whether the chosen timezone observes daylight saving time (DST) and whether WEMASY shows DST-adjusted offsets; try switching to an equivalent UTC offset if needed.

  • if multiple team members see different results, ensure they are viewing the same site project and browser/device time settings aren’t interfering.

Verification and troubleshooting

  • expected confirmation: scheduled posts publish at local expected times; analytics and order timestamps match the selected timezone.

  • if problems persist: clear cache, try another browser, or replicate the change while an admin watches. if still unresolved, contact WEMASY support at support@wemasy.com or via the support page and include your registered email, the project name, screenshots of the timezone setting, and the test post details.

Pro tip

Document your chosen timezone in your team handbook and, for international teams, consider using UTC to simplify coordination and reporting.
