The Versions page shows every version of your website and the full history of changes. From there you choose which version visitors see, compare any two points, and go back to an earlier version or an earlier moment when something went wrong. Nothing is lost when you go back: WEMASY saves the step back as a new change that you can undo the same way.
Open the Versions page
- Click the version switcher in the header, right of the project switcher.
- Click All versions.
On the left you see Main, your Versions with who made them and how many changes they hold, the Live history and the History. The badge On your site marks the version visitors see. You work here marks the version this tab edits.
Make a version live
- Select the version on the left.
- Click Make live.
- Confirm. The version now carries the On your site badge.
- When WEMASY asks to publish now, confirm so visitors see the version.
Edits on other versions stay off your site. To make Main the live version again, select Main and click Make live.
Make live is different from Put live… in the switcher. Put live copies the changes of a version into Main. Make live switches your website to that version as a whole. See Site versions.
Roll back to what was live before
- Find the entry you want under Live history, for example an earlier version that was made live or published.
- Click Go back to this.
- Confirm.
- Publish when WEMASY asks.
Your site stays on that earlier moment, marked pinned to an earlier moment, until you make a version live again.
Go back to an earlier moment of a version
The History lists every change of the version you work in, newest first.
- Select a moment in History.
- Look at the changes WEMASY shows for that moment.
- Click Go back to this moment.
- Confirm.
WEMASY saves the files as they were then as a new change. To try the old state first without touching anything, click Make a version of it.
Compare and preview
- Under Compare, pick any two points: Main, a version or an earlier moment. What changes lists the differences. Click Show the change for the details.
- Under Preview, switch between Desktop and Mobile, or click Open in a new tab.
Tip: before a big change goes live, compare the version with Main and check the most visited pages in the preview.
