The Customer account element adds a login button and account menu to your website. Customers log in to see their orders and details, and logged-in customers get their account menu in the same spot. Place it in your header, next to the cart.
Before you start
- This is a webshop element. It appears in the Elements panel when the webshop is turned on.
- Customer accounts must be on in your webshop settings. If they are off, the element shows Customer accounts are off in Webshop settings. See Customer accounts.
Add the element
- Open your header, for example the header reusable template of your layout.
- Click Elements in the left sidebar.
- Drag Customer account into the header.
The account pages
Login, registration, password reset and the customer dashboard are system pages of your webshop. They are linked from this element and from the checkout. You can design them like other pages, but you cannot delete them or set them to draft, because the login flow needs them. See Managing your pages list.
Test it
- Publish your website.
- Click the element on the live site and create a test account.
- Log in and check the account menu and order overview.
Complete your header
Add the Cart element next to it, and a product search field with the Search element.
Tip: courses also use customer accounts. Students log in with the same account to follow their lessons.
