Selling gift cards and intro offers

You can sell gift cards in your WEMASY Webshop, and you can mark a product as an intro offer that only new customers can buy once. Both are settings on the product Advanced tab.

Sell a gift card

1. Open Webshop and click Products.
2. Click Create Product.
3. Enter a Title, for example Gift card 25.
4. Enter the Price. This is the value of the card.
5. Tick Billable.
6. Tick Digital product.
7. Open the Basic tab and enter 0 in BTW percentage.
8. Open the Advanced tab.
9. Tick Sold as a gift card.
10. Click Create.

When the order is paid, the buyer gets a gift card with that value by email. VAT is 0% on the card because VAT is paid when the card is spent. Make one product per card value.

How customers use a gift card

Customers enter the gift card code at checkout. The amount is taken off the order. Whatever is left stays on the card for a next order.

Manage gift cards

If Reservations and Bookings is active on your project, you see all gift cards under Gift cards in that tool. There you make a card by hand with New gift card, change the balance with Add / take off, or switch a card off with Turn off. See Gift cards.

When you refund an order with a gift card in it, the sold card is switched off. See Orders, fulfillment, and quotes.

Create an intro offer

1. Open the product.
2. Open the Advanced tab.
3. Tick Intro offer: new customers only, once.
4. Click Update.

Someone who ordered from you before cannot buy the product, and nobody can buy it twice. Use it for a first box, a trial size, or a first lesson at a lower price.
