Adding a form to a popup

Learn how to show a WEMASY form inside a popup, set the text after sending and count submissions as popup conversions

A popup with a form is the most common way to collect sign-ups, requests and feedback. You pick one of your project's forms in the popup builder, and WEMASY shows it in the popup. Every submission is saved in Forms like any other submission, and it counts as a conversion in the popup statistics.

Add a form to a popup

  1. Open Popups and open the popup in the builder.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Choose a form under Form in this popup.
  4. Click Save.

The form shows under the popup's content. Choose No form to remove it again.

Make a new form for the popup

  1. Choose New form under Form in this popup.
  2. Add the fields in the form builder that opens, for example an email field and a submit button.
  3. Go back to the popup and click Save.

Click Edit form at any time to change the fields. How fields work is explained in Form builder and fields.

Popups with a form in the design

Some ready designs already contain a form. The builder then shows The form in this design at the top of the Settings tab, with its name and an Edit form button. Use that button to change the fields of the design's form.

Set the thank-you text

In After sending, visitors read, type the text visitors see in the popup right after they send the form, for example "Thanks, check your inbox". Leave it empty to show the general line "Message sent successfully".

Emails and submissions

The popup only shows the form. What happens after a submission is set on the form itself in Forms: the email to you, the confirmation to the visitor, a newsletter list and a webhook. See Email notifications and webhooks. All submissions from the popup are under Submissions in Forms.

Conversions

A successful form submission in the popup counts as a conversion. You see the conversions and the conversion rate per popup on the Overview page of Popups. See Popup statistics.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the same form in a popup and on a page?

Yes. A form can be used in several places. All submissions end up under the same form in Forms.

Which forms can I choose?

The forms of the same project. Create the form in Forms first, or choose New form in the popup.

Tip: Ask for as little as possible in a popup. An email field and one button convert better than a long form.
