You can create a popup in WEMASY in three ways: let the guide suggest a design for your goal, pick a ready design, or start from scratch. Every new popup is made switched off, so you can check it in the builder before visitors see it.
Create a popup with the guide
- Open Popups from the product switcher.
- Click Popups in the top menu.
- Click New popup. When you have no popups yet, click Guide me.
- Pick a goal under What should your first popup do?, such as Grow your mailing list, Sell more, Get bookings and requests, Tell visitors something or Hear from your visitors. Click Next.
- Choose a design. Designs marked Fits your site match your website. Click Next.
- Choose when it shows: After a few seconds, After scrolling or When they are about to leave. Click Next.
- Check the summary and click Make my popup.
The builder opens with your new popup.
Start from a ready design
When you have no popups yet, the Popups page shows a few ready designs in your site's colours. Click Use this on one of them. The popup is made with its text, look and moment, and opens in the builder.
Start from scratch
- Click Start from scratch on the Popups page.
- The builder opens with an empty popup named New popup.
- Give it a Name on the Settings tab. Only you see the name.
- Design the content in the Content designer tab, or choose a form under Form in this popup.
Let the AI make a popup
On the Overview page, describe the popup you want in the prompt, for example "10% off for first-time visitors". The AI makes it with you.
Check and switch it on
- In the builder, check the words and the look in the preview, on a computer and on a phone.
- On the Settings tab, tick Active.
- Click Save.
You can also switch a popup on or off with the switch on its card in the Popups list. If you changed the design, publish your website again so the live site shows the new content.
Change the design later
Click Change design at the top of the builder and choose Use this design on another one. The popup takes the new design and look. Its name, when it shows, who sees it, its A/B test and its statistics stay.
Frequently asked questions
How many popups can I create?
Your plan sets how many popups you can create each calendar month. A duplicate counts as a new popup. Versions in an A/B test do not count, and a popup you delete gives its place back. See the pricing page for the plans.
Why don't visitors see my new popup?
A new popup is switched off. Tick Active and save. Also check its pages, devices and frequency in the targeting settings.
