Your newsletters show a sender name, and replies go to an address you choose. In WEMASY you set these per campaign, and you decide in your project settings how emails are sent, how they look and which domain hosts the online version of your newsletters.
Set the sender of a campaign
- Open Newsletter & Campaign from the product switcher.
- Click Campaigns and open a campaign.
- Under Sender and settings, enter the Sender name.
- Enter the Sender email.
- Enter a Reply-to email if replies should go to another address.
- Click Update.
When you leave the fields empty, the project name is used as the sender name and replies go to the owner of the project. A newsletter you send from the Send newsletter page also becomes a campaign, so you can change its sender the same way.
Choose how your emails are sent
By default WEMASY sends your newsletters for you. The emails are sent from a WEMASY address with your sender name, and replies go to you. To send from your own address, connect your own mail server (SMTP).
- Open Project settings.
- Go to the Mail server tab.
- Choose Use my own mail server (SMTP).
- Enter the SMTP server, Port, Encryption, Username and Password from your mail provider.
- Enter the Sender address and Sender name.
- Under Use this mail server for, tick Newsletters and campaigns.
- Click Send test email and check that it arrives, also in your spam folder.
- Click Save.
You can save only after a test email was sent. The sender address must be one your mail server allows you to send as.
Give your emails your style
- Open Project settings.
- Go to the Email style tab.
- Add your Logo, or click Use my site's logo.
- Choose the Brand color, Button color, Background and Font.
- Enter the Footer text, for example your company name and address.
- Click Save.
- Click Send me a test email to check the result.
The style applies to every email your project sends, including newsletters. The Preview shows both a normal email and a newsletter.
Connect a newsletter domain
A newsletter domain hosts the online version of your newsletters and is used for the "view in browser" link in your emails. Without your own domain, no such link is added, to protect your deliverability.
- Open Project settings.
- Go to the Newsletter tab.
- Under Newsletter domain, choose Use my own domain.
- Enter the Domain, for example newsletter.yourdomain.com.
- Click Save domain.
- Add the DNS records shown on the page at your domain provider.
- Click Check DNS.
DNS can take up to 24 hours to propagate. When the check succeeds, the status shows that the DNS is verified.
Frequently asked questions
Why do my emails come from a WEMASY address?
When WEMASY sends for you, the email uses a WEMASY sending address with your sender name, and replies go to your reply-to address. Connect your own mail server under Project settings, Mail server, to send from your own address.
Can I use my website domain as the newsletter domain?
Your website domain belongs to your website. Use a subdomain such as newsletter.yourdomain.com for the newsletter.
