Newsletter & Campaign protects both your contacts and your sending reputation. Every email has an unsubscribe link, addresses that bounce stop getting mail, and sending is spread over the day when you send a lot. This article explains what your contacts see and which limits apply to your project.
How unsubscribing works
WEMASY adds an unsubscribe link to every email, except in a campaign you marked as Private campaign. Mail apps that support one-click unsubscribe also show their own unsubscribe button.
When a contact clicks the link, a page opens with the title Manage your email preferences. There the contact can:
- Unsubscribe from one campaign.
- Choose Unsubscribe from all emails.
- Answer Why are you unsubscribing? with a reason such as Too many emails, Content not relevant, Never signed up, Privacy concerns or Other reason.
- Change their mind with Resubscribe to this campaign or Resubscribe to all emails.
An unsubscribe takes effect right away. The contact gets the status Unsubscribed, and the reason appears in the contact's History and in the campaign results. You cannot change the design of this page.
Bounces and spam complaints
When an email does not arrive because the address does not exist, or when a person marks your email as spam, WEMASY stops sending to that address. The contact shows Bounced or Marked as spam with the date. When an address fails several times in a row, mailing stops as well.
To see these contacts, open Contacts and choose the filter Not mailed (bounced or spam). If an address works again, open the contact and click Send to this address again.
When a campaign pauses itself
If too many of the first emails of a campaign bounce or are marked as spam, the campaign pauses itself. Too many bounces and complaints put the mail of every sender at risk, so WEMASY checks the list before it sends again.
- Open the campaign and read the notice at the top.
- Remove the addresses that bounced.
- Contact support.
- Start the campaign again from Actions once the notice says WEMASY checked it.
The same check applies to contacts you imported with consent: your first campaign to them goes to a sample first, and the rest is held if that sample goes badly.
Daily sending limits
When WEMASY sends for you, a new sender sends campaign emails in steps: at most 500 on the first day, 1,000 on the next, then 2,000 a day, so mailboxes learn to trust the mail. After that, each project has a daily maximum for campaign emails. Emails over the limit wait for the next day and are never lost. A running campaign shows a notice with the time the rest goes out.
Plan limits and usage
Your plan sets how many emails you can send per month, how many campaigns you can start per month and how many contacts a project can have.
- Open Project settings.
- Go to the Usage tab.
- Check E-mails sent, Newsletter campaigns and Contacts.
Monthly counters start again every month, and each bar shows the date. Compare plans on the pricing page. If your mail is paused, the Usage tab tells you why, and campaigns wait until WEMASY resumes them.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add someone who unsubscribed again?
An import skips people who unsubscribed earlier, and they stay unsubscribed. Only the contact can resubscribe, from the preferences page in one of your emails.
Are emails lost when I reach the daily limit?
No. Emails over the daily limit wait and go out the next day.
