Email code at login

The email code at login adds a second step to logging in to WEMASY. After your password, WEMASY emails you a 6 digit code, and you only get in after you enter it. It is an easy form of extra security that does not need an app on your phone. In the dashboard this setting is called Enable email token login.

Before you begin

• Your email address must be verified. See verifying your email address.
• You need access to your inbox every time you log in.
• Have your WEMASY password ready.

How to turn on the email code

1. Click the user icon in the top right corner of the dashboard.
2. Click My account.
3. Click Security in the menu on the left.
4. Turn on Enable email token login. The Enable email token window opens and WEMASY emails you a code.
5. Enter the code from the email in Email Token.
6. Enter your password in Your account password.
7. Click Submit.

Logging in with the email code

1. Enter your email and password on the login page.
2. Click Sign in. WEMASY emails you a code.
3. Enter the code in Email Token.
4. Click Verify.

The code works for 10 minutes. If it expired, click Back and log in again to get a new code. See log in to your account.

Combine it with an authenticator app

You can turn on the email code and two-factor authentication with an authenticator app at the same time. WEMASY then asks for the email code first and the authenticator code second. An authenticator app protects you better, because someone who gets into your mailbox still cannot log in. See two-factor authentication.

How to turn off the email code

1. Go to My account, Security.
2. Turn off Enable email token login. The Disable email token window opens and WEMASY emails you a code.
3. Enter the code in Email Token.
4. Enter your password in Your account password.
5. Click Submit.

Troubleshooting

• No code arrives: check your spam folder. Wait a minute before you try again: WEMASY limits how many codes it sends per minute.
• Invalid password or token: the code expired or the password was wrong. Close the window and switch the setting again for a new code.
• WEMASY asks you to verify your email: enter the verification code from the email and click Verify Email, then continue.

Tip: Keep your email account itself secure with a strong password and its own two-step login. The email code is only as safe as your mailbox.
