When someone invites you to work on their WEMASY project, you get an email with an invitation link. Accepting it gives you access to that project with the permissions the owner chose for you. If you do not have a WEMASY account yet, you create one in the same step. This article explains both cases.
Before you start
- Use the email address the invitation was sent to. The invitation belongs to that address.
- An invitation link works for 7 days. After that, ask the owner for a new invitation.
If you are new to WEMASY
- Open the invitation email.
- Click the invitation link. The Invitation page opens.
- Enter a password of at least 8 characters.
- Enter the same password in the confirm password field.
- Tick the checkbox to agree to the Terms & Conditions, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
- Click Join.
WEMASY creates your account with the name and email address from the invitation, logs you in and opens the project. The person who invited you gets an email that you joined.
If you already have a WEMASY account
- Open the invitation email.
- Click the invitation link.
WEMASY adds the project to your account right away. If you are logged in, the dashboard opens. If not, the login page opens: log in with your existing password. See log in to your account.
The project now appears in your project list. See switching between projects.
If the link does not work
- Expired: the invitation is older than 7 days. Ask the owner to invite you again.
- Invalid Link: the invitation was already used, withdrawn by the owner, or the link was copied incompletely. Open the link straight from the email, or ask for a new invitation.
What you can do in the project
You work in the project with the permissions the owner gave you. You do not become the owner, and the owner's plan and billing stay with the owner. Ask the owner if you need more access. Owners can read how invitations and permissions work in inviting collaborators.
Tip: After joining as a new user, complete your name under My account, Profile, and consider turning on two-factor authentication.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to pay to join a project?
No. Joining someone else's project does not need a plan of your own. The project's plan belongs to its owner.
The invitation went to the wrong address. What now?
An invitation only works for the address it was sent to. Ask the owner to remove it and invite your correct email address.
