Accepting updated terms and privacy policy

Learn what the WEMASY popup for updated terms and privacy policy shows, how to accept it, and what happens if you wait.

When WEMASY updates its terms of use, privacy policy, cookie policy or data processing agreement, you are asked to accept the new version in the dashboard. A popup shows what changed and links to the full texts. This article explains what you see and what happens if you wait.

What the popup looks like

The popup appears after you log in, on any page of the dashboard. It comes before any other popup, such as release notes. It shows:

  • A short summary of what changed.
  • A list on the left with each updated document, its version, the date it takes effect, and its status: To accept or Accepted.
  • Earlier legal updates under that list.
  • An accept button.

How to accept the update

  1. Read the summary in the popup.
  2. Click a document in the list on the left to read the full text. It opens in a new tab.
  3. Return to the dashboard tab.
  4. Click the accept button.

WEMASY records your acceptance for each document and version, with the date and your language, and closes the popup. You are not asked again for these versions.

If you close the popup

Before the date by which you must accept, you can close the popup with the close button or the Escape key. It comes back on the next page, until you accept.

From that date on, the popup can no longer be closed. Every page of the dashboard shows it again, and you can only continue after you accept. Your website stays online in the meantime: the popup only blocks the dashboard.

Who is asked

  • Every logged in WEMASY user, owners and collaborators alike.
  • Accounts created after the new version took effect are not asked: you agreed to the current texts when you signed up.
  • When only one document changes later, the popup lists only that document. Your earlier acceptance of the other documents stays valid.

Where to read the texts

The full texts are on wemasy.com: the terms of use, the privacy policy and the cookie policy. The popup always links to the current version. For how WEMASY handles your data, see data and privacy.

Questions about the changes

If you have a question about an update before you accept, create a support ticket. If you do not agree with new terms, you can stop using WEMASY. See cancelling your account.

Tip: Accept the update when it first appears. Then it never blocks you in the middle of your work.

Frequently asked questions

Does every collaborator have to accept?

Yes. Each person with a WEMASY account accepts for their own account. One person accepting does not count for the others.

Can I put a popup like this on my own website?

No. This consent popup only exists in the WEMASY dashboard. For your own website, use the cookie consent bar and your own legal pages.
