Showing courses on your website

Learn how to add the Courses element to your WEMASY website and how visitors start, buy and follow your courses from their account.

Your published courses appear on your website through the Courses element of the Website Builder. It shows a catalog of your courses, a page per course with its outline and preview lessons, and the button to start or buy the course. Students then follow the lessons from their customer account on your site.

Add the Courses element to a page

  1. Open the page in the Website Builder. See Edit mode and the builder interface.
  2. Open Elements in the left sidebar.
  3. Drag the Courses element onto the page.
  4. Open the settings of the element.
  5. Leave One course (slug) empty to show all published courses.
  6. Save and publish the page.

To show one course only, enter its slug in One course (slug). The slug is the course title in lowercase with hyphens, for example sourdough-for-beginners for Sourdough for beginners.

What visitors see

The catalog shows a card for each published course with the image, title, price or Free, and the number of lessons. View course opens the course page with:

  • The description, the number of modules and lessons, and the length.
  • Course content: the outline with every module and lesson.
  • Preview lessons marked Free preview, which visitors can open with Watch. Other lessons show Locked.
  • Start course for a free course, or Buy course for a paid course.

Visitors who are not logged in see a note to log in or create an account first. After they start or buy, the button changes to Continue.

How students follow a course

Once a student has access, a My courses tab appears in their customer account on your website. There they:

  • See each course with their progress, such as 40% done.
  • Click Continue to open the next lesson.
  • Move through lessons with Previous lesson and Next lesson.
  • Click Mark complete after a lesson, or pass the quiz in a quiz lesson.
  • See when a delayed module opens, for example Opens 12 May.
  • Click Download certificate when they finish a course with certificates switched on.

When the AI tutor is on, students also see Ask the tutor under a lesson. See Certificates and the AI tutor.

Tip: Add a link to the page with the Courses element in your main menu so returning students and new visitors find your courses quickly.
