A quiz lesson lets your students check what they learned. WEMASY scores the answers, shows which questions were right or wrong, and completes the lesson when the student reaches the pass percentage. You add a quiz as a lesson of the type Quiz.
Create a quiz lesson
- Open your course and select the Curriculum tab.
- Enter a Lesson title in the module where the quiz belongs.
- Set the Type to Quiz.
- Click Add lesson.
- Click Edit next to the quiz lesson.
The Edit lesson screen now shows a Quiz section below the lesson fields.
Set the pass percentage and attempts
- Pass percentage: the share of the points a student needs to pass. The default is 70.
- Attempts: how many times a student may try. Leave it empty for unlimited attempts.
Add questions
- Click Add question.
- Choose the question type.
- Write the question.
- Enter the answer options or accepted answers.
- Mark the Right answer.
- Set the Points for the question.
- Write an Explanation (shown after answering).

Question types
- One answer: the student picks one option. Mark the one right answer.
- More answers: the student picks every right option. Mark all right answers.
- True or false: the student chooses True or False.
- Short text: the student types an answer. Enter the Accepted answers, one per line. Capitals and extra spaces do not matter.
A choice question has 2 to 20 options. Use the arrows to move a question up or down.
Publish the quiz
A quiz lesson can only be published once it has at least one question. After you publish it, students see the quiz in the course. Passing the quiz completes the lesson. Students cannot skip a quiz with Mark complete.
Personal feedback after a quiz
With Personal feedback after a quiz switched on in the Details tab, students get a short note after each attempt: what they got wrong, why, and which lesson to reread. The AI writes it from your AI credits, or WEMASY builds it from your explanations. While a student can still retry, the note never gives the answer away. See AI settings in your account for AI credits.
Check results and reset attempts
On the Students tab, the Quizzes column shows for each student how many quizzes they passed, their best score and their number of attempts. Click Reset to give a student all attempts again for a quiz. Their completed lessons and certificate stay. The Insights tab lists the hardest questions. See Managing students and progress.
Tip: Write a clear explanation for every question. Students see it after answering, and it also makes the personal feedback notes better.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I not publish my quiz?
A quiz needs at least one question and a marked right answer for every question. Add a question, mark the right answer and save the lesson.
A student used all attempts. What can I do?
Open the Students tab of the course and click Reset in the Quizzes column for that student. They can take the quiz again with all its attempts.
