Four settings on the Details tab of a course change what students get while they learn: a certificate when they finish, an email when a module opens, a personal note after a quiz, and an AI tutor that answers questions about the lesson. This article explains each one.
Certificates
Switch on Certificate when finished to give every student who completes all lessons a PDF certificate.
- Open your course and select the Details tab.
- Switch on Certificate when finished.
- Click Save.
When a student completes the last lesson, WEMASY makes the certificate with the student name, the course title, your shop name and the completion date. The student gets it by email, with a code anyone can check. Students can also click Download certificate in the My courses tab of their account.
Emails when a module opens
If a module uses Opens after (days), switch on Email students when a module opens. Each student gets one email per module, when it opens for them, with a button to their account. The email uses the look, logo and language of your shop. See Building your course curriculum for delayed modules.
Personal feedback after a quiz
With Personal feedback after a quiz on, students get a short note after each quiz attempt: what they got wrong, why, and which lesson to reread. The AI writes it from your AI credits. Without AI credits, WEMASY uses your question explanations. While the student can still retry, the note never gives the right answer away. See Adding quizzes to a course.
The AI tutor for students
Switch on AI tutor for students to let enrolled students ask questions about the lesson they have open. They click Ask the tutor under the lesson on your website.
- The tutor answers from this course only and says so when something is not in it.
- It never gives quiz answers while the student can still take the quiz.
- It answers in the language of the course.
- Only enrolled students can ask. A free preview is not enough.
- Each answer uses your AI credits. See AI settings in your account.
The tutor is off by default. Your plan sets how many tutor answers your project gets per month, and each student can ask up to 30 questions per day. The Insights tab shows how many tutor questions were asked this month and how much of the monthly limit is used.
Tip: Watch the tutor questions per lesson on the Insights tab. A lesson with many questions may need a clearer explanation.
Frequently asked questions
Does a student who finished before I switched on certificates get one?
They do not get an email, because the email goes out at the moment a student completes the course. Once you switch the setting on, students who already completed the course can click Download certificate in the My courses tab of their account.
What do students see when the tutor limit is reached?
They see a message that the tutor has answered as many questions as it can this month, or that they reached the limit for today. They can try again later.
Are the tutor conversations stored?
No. WEMASY only counts how many questions were asked per lesson. The text of the questions and answers is not kept.
