A conversion is a paying customer that an affiliate brought in. Before an affiliate earns commission on it, you check it. You also approve the identity of affiliates before they can be paid, when your program asks for it. Both checks wait for you on the Overview screen under Needs your attention.
How a conversion is created
- A visitor clicks an affiliate link. WEMASY stores the affiliate code in a cookie for the cookie days of the program.
- The visitor places a webshop order. The code is saved with the order.
- When the order is paid, the affiliate gets commission on the order amount without tax. The conversion waits for your approval.
- Orders placed by the affiliate themself do not count.
Your own server can also report conversions, for example payments made outside your webshop. See the webhook secret in Create an affiliate program.
Approve or reject a conversion
- Open the product switcher and select Affiliate System.
- Click Approvals in the menu.
- Stay on the Pending tab.
- Check the Program, Affiliate and Customer of the row.
- Click Approve to accept the conversion, or Reject to refuse it.
Approved and rejected conversions move to the Approved and Rejected tabs. If your program uses the API or API + manual approval mode, click Verify to ask your own server for its answer first. The result shows as Verification result.
Approve an identity check
A new affiliate can earn from the first click, but when your program has Verification required for payout switched on, they are paid only after you approve their identity. On the affiliate's dashboard page they see a banner asking them to verify their account.
- Open Overview.
- Find Identity checks under Needs your attention.
- Click Approve next to the affiliate.
The Verification column on Performance shows the status of every affiliate.
Refunds
When you refund a webshop order, the commission on it is taken back. If the affiliate was already paid, the amount is deducted from their next payout.

Frequently asked questions
Does a pending conversion stop the tracking?
No. Tracking and commission recording keep working. Approval decides whether the commission is paid out.
Why was no commission created for an order?
Commission is only created when the order is paid, the visitor came through a link within the cookie days, and the order was not placed by the affiliate. You also need an active program.
