Add affiliates and tracking links

Affiliates are the people who promote your website. Each affiliate gets a code and one or more tracking links. When a visitor uses a link, WEMASY records the click and remembers the affiliate for the cookie days of the program. You can add affiliates yourself, or let them sign up on your website.

Add an affiliate yourself

1. Open the product switcher and select Affiliate System.
2. Click Users in the menu.
3. Click Add user.
4. Enter the Email of the affiliate.
5. Choose a Program, or choose No program (create affiliate only).
6. Save. The affiliate appears in the list with a code.

Let affiliates sign up on your website

The Affiliate System creates a sign-up page at /affiliate/join with the Become an affiliate block. It shows the commission of your program and a Start earning button. A visitor who is not signed in sees Sign in or create an account first. After joining, the affiliate's tracking works at once and they are sent to their own affiliate dashboard page.

If the sign-up page or the resources page is missing:

1. Open the project settings with the configuration icon next to the project switcher.
2. Click the Affiliate program tab.
3. Click Reinstall pages under Install / repair affiliate pages.

Link to /affiliate/join from your menu or footer so people can find it. See Project settings for the settings sidebar.

Enroll an affiliate in a program

1. Open Users.
2. Open the affiliate.
3. Go to Programs.
4. Click Enroll next to the program. Click Unenroll to remove the affiliate from it.

Create a tracking link

Every affiliate has a standard link with their code, in the form yoursite.com/?wemasy-ref=CODE. You can also make clean links that are easier to share.

1. Open Users.
2. Click Manage links next to the affiliate.
3. Enter a custom name, for example johns-recommendation.
4. Click Generate.

The link becomes yoursite.com/go/{name}. A click records the visit, sets the cookie and sends the visitor on to your site. Affiliates can also make their own links on their dashboard page with Generate link.

See the visits of an affiliate

Open the affiliate under Users. The Visits table lists every click on their links: When, Source, Landing page, Visitor and Time on site. Click Watch session to see the visit. Recordings exist only for visitors who allowed analytics.

What affiliates see

On the Affiliate dashboard page an affiliate sees their code, tracking link, Lifetime earnings, Active customers, their links and recent clicks, the programs they joined, missions and badges, and their invoices. They fill in their Payout details there, including their IBAN.
