User intent is also called search intent. It refers to the goal or the purpose of the user who is searching for any information in the search engine. A user can have many goals to perform the search. They can search for information, a product, or a service; make a purchase (navigating into a platform); and more.
The searches the user performs are a part of the user journeys, and the search engine ranks the pages according to the search terms used by the user in the search engine result page. If someone is looking for “best basketballs,” the search engine ranks the pages that are most related to this keyword in the result page.
