How do you add inline code or quotes

Home / Knowledge Base / Website Builder / How do you add inline code or quotes

WEMASY website builder allows you to format special types of text such as inline code and quotes. This feature is useful when you want to highlight code snippets, technical terms, or quoted text within your content. Proper formatting not only improves readability but also helps differentiate between normal text and special references.

Step 1. Open the website editor

Log in to your WEMASY Dashboard, open your website project, and click Edit Website to launch the visual editor. From here, navigate to the page or section that contains the text you want to format.

Step 2. Select the text block

Click on the text block that contains the content you want to edit. Then, highlight the specific part of the text you want to turn into inline code or a quote.

Step 3. Apply the desired text formatting

Use the text formatting toolbar that appears above your selected text and choose one of the following options:

Inline code

  • Click the Code icon (</>) on the toolbar.

  • The selected text will automatically change to a monospace font (similar to computer code) and may appear with a shaded background depending on your site’s theme.

  • Example: <div> or <h1>.

Quote

  • Click the Quote icon (") or select Blockquote from the formatting options.

  • The text will appear indented or styled differently to distinguish it as quoted content.

Step 4. Preview your page

After applying the formatting, click the Preview (Website) button on the top-right corner of your dashboard. Review how the text appears in both desktop and mobile views to ensure proper styling and readability.

Tip

Use inline code only for short snippets or HTML tag references. For longer code samples, tutorials, or documentation, use a dedicated code block section if available. Similarly, quotes should be reserved for cited content, testimonials, or references to other sources.
