A service is what your customers book and pay for, such as a haircut, a yoga class, a table for dinner or a bike rental. Each service is linked to one or more resources, which decide when it can be booked. When you save a service, WEMASY creates a shop product in the background so customers can pay at checkout.
Before you start
Create at least one resource first. See Create a resource and set availability.
Add a service
- Open Reservations & Bookings from the product switcher.
- Click Services in the top menu.
- Click Add service.
- Enter the Service name.
- Enter a Short description.
- Enter the Price.
- Pick the booking type.
- Tick one or more Resources.
- Make sure Active is on.
- Click Create.
Name, price, booking type and at least one resource are required.
Duration and add-ons
- Duration (minutes): the length of one booking, for example 30 for a haircut. Leave it empty to let the resource settings decide.
- Add-ons (optional): extras the guest can tick. Enter one per line: the name, the price and the extra minutes.
- Table time by party size (optional): for restaurants, how long a table is held per party size.
- Length per person (optional): a different duration for a staff member who needs more or less time.
Deposit
Under Deposit you choose how much the guest pays online when booking. The rest is paid at the venue. The options are No deposit (pay in full), Percent of the price, Amount per guest and Amount per booking. A deposit helps against no-shows.
Intro offer
Turn on Intro offer for an offer for new customers only, such as a first class at a lower price. Someone who ordered from you before cannot book it, and nobody can book it twice.
Credits and memberships
Turn on Enable credits to sell credits instead of single bookings. Choose Prepaid pack for a class card or Recurring allowance for credits that come with a membership. For a membership, create one service per plan and add its weekly, monthly or yearly prices. Customers then pay with credits when they book. See Booking customers, credits and memberships.
Tip: make a service inactive instead of deleting it when you stop offering it for a while. Inactive services cannot be booked.
When the service is ready, add it to your website.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the resource list empty?
A service can only use resources that already exist. Create a resource under Resources first, then open the service again.
Do I have to create the shop product myself?
No. WEMASY creates and updates the shop product for each service automatically. You manage the service only under Services.
