When you manage several websites in one workspace, you can republish them together from the Workspaces page. This is useful after a change that affects many websites at once. Publishing runs on the WEMASY servers, so it keeps going when you close the page.
What this does
Each selected website is published again to its current live address. Its domain and DNS do not change. Websites that were never published, or that still need setup, cannot be published from here: open Publish on that website first. See Publishing your website.
How to publish websites in a workspace
- Click the workspace switcher left of the project switcher.
- Click Manage workspaces.
- Click View next to the workspace.
- Wait until the status of each website is checked.
- Click Select ready, or tick the websites you want one by one.
- Click Publish selected.
- Confirm.
WEMASY publishes up to 2 websites of a workspace at the same time. The others wait in line.
Publish statuses
- Ready: the website can be republished. Under the name you see where it publishes to.
- Queued: waiting for its turn.
- Publishing: being published now.
- Live: the publish is done.
- Failed: the publish did not work. Click Logs to see why.
- Needs setup: open Publish on this website to set it up first. The Open Publish button takes you there.
- Theme: theme projects are not published from here.
Stop a publish
Click Stop next to a website that is queued or publishing. The status shows Stopping and then the publish ends.
Tip: Republishing is safe for websites that are already live, because it uses the same address and settings as the last publish. For grouping projects first, see Connecting projects to a workspace.
Frequently asked questions
Does publishing from a workspace change my domain?
No. Each website is published to its current live address with the same settings as its last publish.
Can I close the page while websites publish?
Yes. Publishing runs on the WEMASY servers and continues when you close the browser. Open the workspace again to see the result.
