Connect your own AI with MCP

With AI connection (MCP) you work on your WEMASY website from your own AI tool, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or VS Code. The connection uses MCP, an open standard these tools speak. Your AI uses its own account and credits, not your WEMASY AI credits. Connecting your own AI is part of every paid plan.

Who can switch it on

• The project must be on a paid plan. On the free plan the tab shows Part of the paid plans with a See the plans button.
• Only the owner of the project can switch MCP on and make tokens.

Switch on MCP and make a token

1. Click the gear icon next to the project switcher.
2. Click AI connection (MCP) in the menu on the left.
3. Click Switch on.
4. Click New token.
5. Enter a Name, for example Claude on my laptop.
6. Under Access, choose Read and change or Read only.
7. Click Make token.
8. Copy the token right away. You will not see it again.

Connect your AI tool

1. Click Copy next to MCP address.
2. Open the MCP or connector settings of your AI tool.
3. Add a new server with the MCP address.
4. Paste your token where the tool asks for it.

Your AI can now read this website. With Read and change, it can also change it, and every change asks for your confirmation in your AI first.

Safety limits

• A token works for this project only.
• The number of calls per minute and per hour is limited.
• Every call is logged: which tool, when, and the result.
• A change to your site or account needs a second, confirmed call.

Stop access

• Click Revoke next to a token to stop that one token at once.
• Click Switch off to stop and remove every token of the project.

The token list shows when each token was made and last used, so you can spot tokens you no longer use.

MCP and the WEMASY AI chat

The WEMASY AI chat in your dashboard keeps using WEMASY's own AI; you cannot plug another model into it. MCP is how you use your own AI with WEMASY. For the AI inside the dashboard, see Using AI in the Website Builder and AI preferences for your project.

Tip: Give each device or tool its own token with a clear name. Then you can revoke one without breaking the others.
