AI credits are what you spend when you use AI in WEMASY. Every answer of the AI chat and every draft from Rewrite with AI uses a few credits, based on how much work the AI does. This article explains where your credits come from, where you see your balance, how to top up, and what happens when credits run out.
What uses AI credits
- Answers in the AI chat, including the work the AI does in your project.
- Drafts from Rewrite with AI in the Website Builder and in content fields.
- Texts made with Generate with AI in the setup wizard.
- Generated images, when you choose Generate images in your AI Preferences.
Bigger tasks use more credits than small ones. A long conversation also uses more per answer, because the AI reads more history each time.
Where your credits come from
- Included in your plan: some paid plans include an amount of AI credits that renews every week. The free plan does not include weekly credits.
- Top-ups: you can buy extra credits at any time.

Check your balance
Your current balance shows at the bottom of the AI chat sidebar. It updates after each answer.
Top up AI credits
- Open the AI chat.
- Click the top up option next to your balance. The Top up AI credits window opens.
- Under Choose an amount, pick an amount, or enter a Custom amount.
- Check the line that tells you how many credits you get.
- Click Continue to payment. The payment opens in a new tab.
- Complete the payment.
- Return to WEMASY. Your balance updates by itself. Click Check now if it does not.
When the payment is done you see Credits added. If you cancel the payment, no money is taken and no credits are added. Top-ups are not available in the WEMASY iOS app.
When your credits run out
With no credits left, the AI chat cannot answer and Rewrite with AI cannot make a draft. Nothing in your project is lost. Top up, or wait until your weekly plan credits renew, and continue where you left off.
Other limits
To keep the service fair and fast for everyone, WEMASY also limits how much AI one account and one website can use in a short time:
- Too many AI requests within one minute pause the AI briefly.
- Each website has a daily AI budget. When it is reached, the AI pauses until the next day.
- Very heavy use within a few hours can pause the AI for a while.
These limits do not use up your credits. Try again after a short wait.

Frequently asked questions
Does a failed AI answer use credits?
No. Credits are only taken for an AI call that completes. A call that ends in an error is not charged.
Do I keep my weekly credits if I do not use them?
Weekly plan credits are an allowance per week. Credits you bought as a top-up stay on your balance until you use them.
