Editing a design in the Canvas editor

The Canvas editor is where you change a design by hand: texts, shapes, photos, icons, your logo and the size of the design. Every change is saved in your project, and you can make copies of the same design in other sizes with one click.

Open the editor

• On the Canvas page, click Open on a design under Recent designs.
• Click a size under Start from a format, or New design, for an empty design.
• In the media library, choose Edit in Canvas on an image.

The editor panels

The rail on the left opens these panels:

• Elements: add Text, a Rectangle, a Circle, an Image, a Frame, Free draw, a QR code, icons and your project logo with Insert logo.
• Photos: search your media library and click or drag an image onto the design. See Media library to upload images.
• Layouts: apply a layout to the design you have open.
• Layers: see every part of the design, change the order and select hidden parts.
• Preset frames: change the design to a standard size.
• Templates: start from a ready design.

Change a design

1. Click a text, shape or image on the design to select it.
2. Change its properties in the toolbar, such as the text, font, color or size.
3. Drag it to move it.
4. Drag a corner to resize it.

Use Undo and Redo in the top bar to go back or forward a step. Keyboard shortcuts shows all shortcut keys.

Add a QR code

1. Open Elements.
2. Go to QR code.
3. Enter a link or text.
4. Click Add.

The QR code is a sharp shape you can recolor, so it stays crisp in print.

Remove the background of a photo

1. Select the photo on the design.
2. Click Remove background in the image options.

Change the size or make other sizes

• Canvas size: change the width and height of the design you have open.
• Magic resize: select other formats and Canvas makes copies of your design in those sizes. The copies are saved next to the original.

Save your work

The editor saves your design automatically while you work and shows All changes saved when it is done. You can also click Save design. To rename a design, click the title in the top bar and type a new name. Click Back to dashboard to return to the Canvas page.

Tip: Make one design for a feed post first, then use Magic resize for the story and banner sizes. You only fix the texts once.
