Stock and inventory

Stock tracking keeps count of how many units of a product you have. When stock runs out, customers cannot order more than you have, and the Webshop Overview warns you about products that are running low.

Turn on stock tracking for a product

1. Open Webshop and click Products.
2. Edit the product.
3. Open the Basic tab.
4. Set Inventory management to Inventory control.
5. Enter the number of units in Stock.
6. Click Update.

With Inventory management set to Inactive, the product is never out of stock.

What customers see

When a customer adds more than you have, the cart says there is not enough stock or how many are left. At checkout WEMASY checks stock again, so two customers cannot buy the last unit at the same time. A product without stock cannot be ordered.

Show "only X left"

1. Open your project settings with the configuration icon next to the project switcher.
2. Click the Webshop tab.
3. Find Template Settings.
4. Enter a number in Show "only X left" from this stock level.
5. Click Submit.

Leave the field empty or 0 to never show it. It only applies to products with stock tracking.

Keep an eye on low stock

The Low stock card on the Webshop Overview lists tracked products that are running low. When everything is fine it says All tracked products are in stock. See Webshop overview and sales reports.

Restock a product

1. Open the product.
2. Open the Basic tab.
3. Enter the new total in Stock.
4. Click Update.

Tip: Leave stock tracking off for digital products and gift cards, which never run out. See Digital products and downloads and Adding products.
