Running A/B tests on another website

WEMASY A/B tests also run on websites that are not built with WEMASY. All the website needs is the WEMASY code in its pages. Your WEMASY website has this code already. You can also limit your tests to your own domains, so a copied code does nothing on someone else's site.

Add the code to another website

1. Open A/B testing from the product switcher.
2. Scroll on the Overview page to Use it on your website.
3. Click Copy code.
4. Paste the code in the <head> of every page of the other website, once.

Check that the code works

1. Open a page of the other website in your browser.
2. Go back to the Overview and click Check again under Where the code is.

The overview shows where and when the code was last seen. "Not seen yet" means WEMASY has not seen the code on any page. If a website is shown with "Not on your list: tests do not run here", add it to your list below.

Choose where your tests run

Under Where your tests run, choose:

• On any website with my WEMASY code: tests run wherever the code is.
• Only on these websites: tests run only on the domains you list.

With Only on these websites, enter one domain per line. Subdomains count too. Your WEMASY website always counts. Add at least one domain, or choose any website.

Create a test for the other website

In the first step of a new test, paste a full link to the page of the other website in Page (path or full link). The rest works as on your WEMASY website. See Creating an A/B test.

To pick an element with Pick on my page, the page must have the WEMASY code and allow being shown in a frame. Otherwise, type the CSS selector yourself.

How visitors see the test

The code picks a version for each visitor and keeps it. Pages with a test stay hidden for a very short moment while the change is applied, so visitors do not see the original flash before version B.
