What are Meta Keywords?

Meta keywords are a type of HTML tag used to provide search engines with a list of relevant keywords that describe the content of a webpage. They were once an important factor for search engine optimization (SEO) as they helped search engines understand what the page was about.

However, meta keywords are now largely irrelevant for modern search engines, such as Google, because they were often abused for keyword stuffing, leading to poor user experience and low-quality content. As a result, search engines no longer use meta keywords as a ranking factor. While some websites may still include them for organizational purposes or other search engines, focusing on high-quality content, relevant on-page SEO elements, and natural keyword usage is much more important today.
