This article helps you when Ad Protection System does not do what you expect: the Google Ads connection stopped, no clicks are blocked, or a real customer was blocked. Find your problem below and follow the steps.
A campaign shows Token Expired or Permission Denied
WEMASY lost access to your Google Ads account. This happens when the access was removed in your Google account, the password changed, or the Google user lost access to the ads account. Protection for these campaigns stops until you reconnect.
- Open Ad Protection System from the product switcher.
- Click Google in the top menu.
- Click Settings.
- Click Connect More Accounts.
- Click Link with Google and sign in with a Google user that has access to the ads account.
A campaign shows Deleted from Google
The campaign no longer exists in Google Ads. Remove it from the list with the delete icon. See Campaign settings.
A campaign shows API Error
Google Ads did not answer for a moment. WEMASY tries again, and the status returns to normal when it works. If it stays for more than a day, reconnect the account as above.
The Google page says Not Connected
No Google Ads account is linked to this project. Click Connect Google and follow Connecting Google Ads.
I see no ad visitors in the reports
- Check that your ads link to your published WEMASY website. Visits to other websites are not measured.
- Check that the campaign is saved in Ad Protection System and has the status Active.
- Check the date range at the top of the report.
- Keep the final URL suffix that WEMASY added to your campaign in Google Ads. Without it, visits cannot be matched to the campaign.
Visitors arrive but nothing is blocked
- Your rules may be loose for your traffic. Compare Irregular Traffic with Blocked IPs on the overview and adjust your click rules.
- The IP may be on your whitelist. Whitelisted IPs are never blocked.
- Minimum Seconds On Site only works for visitors who allowed analytics in your cookie banner.
- Performance Max, Video, Smart and Local campaigns cannot be protected, because Google does not allow IP exclusions there.
A real customer was blocked
- Open the overview of Ad Protection System.
- Find the visitor in the visitor list.
- Switch off the Block switch and confirm.
- Add the IP to Whitelist IPs so it is not blocked again.
If the IP is on your manual block list, remove it there. See Country and IP controls.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when a campaign reaches 500 blocked IPs?
Google allows 500 IP exclusions per campaign. WEMASY then removes the least risky automatic blocks to make room for new ones. IPs you blocked yourself are never removed.
Who can I ask for help?
Contact WEMASY support from your dashboard and mention the campaign ID and the status you see.
